Visit the Pure Michigan site and earn your My Mitten badge by visiting or exploring one of the numerous vacation spots in our great state. From bike trails to museums to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, you're sure to find something to do this summer!

Some of the most spectacular sand dunes in the nation are right here in Michigan. In fact, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was recently voted as the most beautiful place in America by viewers of Good Morning America. Take in some awe-inspiring scenery and earn you My Mitten badge at the same time by visiting some of these natural wonders.

Michigan is home to many historic bridges which are located throughout the state. To get you started on your search, check out the Michigan Historic Bridges list from the MDOT page, or the Historic Bridges of Michigan section of HistoricBridges.org. Either site will give you numerous suggestions to plan your excursion. A great way to earn your My Mitten badge and learn a little history at the same time!

The Detroit Zoo's featured animal for June is Kisa, a 10-year old Amur tiger. Come out and see Kisa, along with the lions, giraffes, polar bears, penguins and the almost 3,300 animals representing 280 species situated on 125 acres. A fun way to earn your My Mitten badge! Learn how to get discounted tickets to the Detroit Zoo using your library card.

Looking for a way to get some exercise, see some beautiful scenery and earn your My Michigan badge? Then go to MichiganTrailMaps.com and check out the almost 170 trails in the Lower Peninsula which have been mapped out for potential hikers.

Pewabic Pottery in Detroit was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1991. Founded in 1903 at the height of the Arts and Crafts Movement in America, the pottery is known nationally for its unique iridescent glazes. Take a trip downtown and earn your My Mitten badge at the same time!
