Book Groups

Adult Contemporary Book Group

Adult Contemporary Book Discussion Group meets at 7:00PM on the third Monday of each month. This self-directed group is sponsored by the Friends of the Canton Public Library. We read current fiction and non-fiction titles from a variety of authors. 

Canton Seniors Book Group

The Canton Seniors Book Group meets on the fourth Thursday of every month from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Lunch and a Book

Lunch and a Book meets the second Thursday of the month (Noon to 1:00PM). The December meeting is used to share favorite titles and make suggestions for the coming year.

Nonfiction Book Group

The Nonfiction Book Group meets the third Saturday of the month (10:00 to 11:00 AM). We read a variety of nonfiction titles covering a wide selection of topics.

Email Book Club

Join free email Book Clubs and read a small portion of a book daily in your email. There are many categories from which to choose; pick as many as you'd like.

Discuss a book from the email clubs with people across the country, and visit the Book Club Forum administered by DearReader.

Book Club-in-a-Bag

Book Club-in-a-Bag is designed to help you hold your own book discussions with friends and colleagues. You can check out kits:

  • 10 copies of a particular book
  • Bonus materials for facilitating conversations
  • Kits can be checked out for eight weeks and renewed for an additional three weeks if there are no holds on them
  • Canton and Plymouth library card holders can place holds on kits
