It's also full of engaging content for different age groups and interests. Best of all, you can personalize your library dashboard to follow lists and blogs, and get notices for things you are interested in.

Parents and caretakers, we are interested in learning about your comfort level with indoor programs for children ages 11 and under. Please help us out by taking our survey, which closes July 26 at 9:00 PM. We appreciate your input.

Thanks for your response to our series of web surveys. We've got more detailed questions for you about our website's navigation path. Please take this survey and help us design a user-friendly approach that helps you find what you need. We appreciate your help in designing a functional, user-friendly website.

When you log in on the My Account page, you will be asked to enter a PIN. We've instituted PINs to help secure your account

Log in screen

Enter your library barcode, the 14-digit number on the back of your library card, in the first box, with no spaces.

Enter your PIN in the second box. Your default PIN is the 8-digit birthdate (mmddyyyy) associated with your account. For example, if your birthday is May 15, 1991, your PIN is 05151991.

You may have received a notice that your holds that are "ready for pickup" were cancelled. This was a mistake on our part--your holds are here, waiting for you, through Monday, December 14. Call 734-397-0999 or Contact Us if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience. We are sorry for the confusion.

There are a number of ways to get materials from the library. Like many of your favorite retailers, we've adapted our services to offer you online ordering and our version of take out. You can order items online, and then choose how you'd like to receive them. Here are the options available:

1. Come in to the library and pick up your items from the hold shelf.

Items are pulled and placed on the hold shelf. You'll need to check them out before you leave the building

2. Make an appointment to pick up materials in the library's lobby.

Make an appointment and we'll have them waiting for you in the lobby, already checked out on your library card. Learn more about this process here.

3. Choose curbside pickup and we will bring items out to your car.

Make an appointment, call us from the designated parking spaces when you arrive, and we'll deliver items to your vehicle. Get details on curbside pickup here.

Other Options

If you aren't comfortable coming to the library, you can use your library card to check out e-books, e-audiobooks, stream movies and TV series, read online magazines and listen to music. Visit our e-media page to see all the options.

Secondhand Prose Used Bookstore

The Friends of the Library are pleased to welcome you back to the Secondhand Prose Bookstore! Donations will be accepted beginning Monday, September 21, in advance of the planned reopening on Friday, October 2. For guidelines on materials donation and where to drop them off, click here.

Please note that the bookstore hours are temporarily changing, and that they may change further depending on the availability of volunteers and any local, state, or federal restrictions:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday (Premium Members Only): noon to 4:00 PM

Important information: The current maximum occupancy of the bookstore is 4 people; this includes the volunteers as well as customers. The library is limiting all patron visits to 30 minutes total—please be mindful of this time limit. Customers are required to wear a solid mask that covers the nose and mouth at all times. Hand sanitizer as well as disinfectant and paper towels are available. Food and beverages are not allowed at this time. All sales are final; no refunds.

These restrictions provide for the appropriate physical distancing and help mitigate community spread of the coronavirus; thank you for your cooperation as the Friends welcome you back to the bookstore!
