Storytime at Canton Farmer's Market

Canton Farmers MarketThis summer, CPL staff will once again be visiting our local Canton Farmers Market to host special storytime and craft sessions. The farmers market is open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, and storytimes will take place at 10:30 AM and noon. We hope to see you there on the following dates (all ages welcome):

Made in Detroit Movie Night

To coincide with the 312th anniversary of the founding of Detroit, the library will be screening the 2012 documentary, Detropia, on Wednesday, July 24 at 7:00 PM in the Purple Room. The documentary, nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, focuses on Detroit's economic decline and its impact on the city and its residents. Join us on July 24 for Detroit-made refreshments and an eye-opening look at the city of Detroit.

STEM Program Series: Supermarket Science

2nd-5th Graders: Join us Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00 PM in the Purple Room for science demonstrations and hands-on experiments using items you can find in your own kitchen or pantry! See the incredible bouncing egg, create a secret message or painting with invisible ink, and more.  Registration begins January 25 and is limited to the first 25 kids, so sign up today!

Halloween Family Fun Night

Calling all boos and ghouls! Join us Monday, October 29th at 7:00 PM in the Community Room for a night of creepy crafts, ghostly games, and spooky stories. Wear your costume and participate in our trick-or-treat parade around the library. Recommended for children age 4-9 years old. Registration begins Sept 25.
