The Earth gives us the opportunity to cultivate and enjoy its offerings. Trees, flowers, and gardens can all flourish under our care. What gardens offer in exchange is the ability to take the end result right to our table. We wait so long for sunny skies and outdoor opportunities in Michigan's ever-changing weather, that a rainy day in the summer can be...a bummer. Allowing ourselves to reframe the day and observe what's available to us inside to enjoy can be good. The 62 Days Square "Rainy Day Fun" is here to help you with that.

Best Your Nest

Our homes can be a reflection of who we are, how we're feeling, and what brings us joy. That piece of art--expensive or made in preschool, the blanket that acts as a comfort when life is overwhelming, and the chair that is waiting at the end of the day--all are part of your "nest." For ideas on how to "best your nest," CPL has you covered.

CPL Rollin' Rally

Choose your ride and get ready to roll! Join us on your bike, scooter, stroller, wheelchair, or other personal wheeled vehicle (no cars!). We'll be talking bike safety with Canton Public Safety. Then grab some swag, a snack, and head to Heritage Park for your own personal, self-guided ride! Bring your own water bottle for our refill station. All snacks and giveaways provided while supplies last.

Come as you are or deck your bike out to participate in our decorating contest! We'll be judging in two categories:

  • Book Themed 
  • Freestyle

Prizes generously donated by Sweet Bikes Canton.

 

Meet in the West parking lot of CPL.

This program is open to all ages and requires registration, beginning on June 24 at 9:00am. 

One registration per family, up to 6 people. Please register for only one time slot.

Baby Drive-In: Grab-and-Go

The Baby Drive-In is coming to you as a grab-and-go kit this year! 

All you'll need to have on hand at home is a cardboard box and some glue (or tape). The Baby Drive-In Kit supplies the rest needed to decorate and transform your box into a kid-friendly car. For a tutorial on this, check out this video created by Miss Marianne.

Each kit will contain:

  • a large sheet of paper to cover your box
  • cutout circles for wheels and headlights
  • a paper plate for a steering wheel
  • a packet of microwave popcorn - for the grownups!
  • a list of suggested titles for viewing via Hoopla Digital*

 

Registration for kits will take place for children 0-2 years old from July 29 thru August 12, while supplies last. Once you've registered to reserve your kit, you will receive an email with instructions on how to pick up your kit at the library. 

 

*CPL Library card required in order to use Hoopla Digital
