Friends of the Library

The Friends are people like you — members of the community who support the library's goals and services. They advocate for the library and raise community awareness. They advocate on behalf of the library, providing the funds to meet specific library needs.

Some of the many things made possible through the Friends' support include:

  • Secondhand Prose Bookstore
  • Wings of Wonder Butterfly Garden
  • Programs for children, tweens, teens, and adults
  • Connect Your Summer reading program
  • Special collections
  • Annual CPL employee scholarships

Wings of Wonder Butterfly Garden

The Friends of the Canton Public Library have created a Butterfly Garden on library grounds. The garden provides a peaceful, natural setting for the whole community to enjoy and offers the library additional opportunities for educational programming.

This ongoing project solicits the support of local gardeners by inviting them to share their native Michigan butterfly-friendly plants at our annual plant exchange in June.

Please follow our Facebook page for announcements of upcoming events.
