Very Hungry Caterpillar Fun

On Saturday, May 26th at 2:00PM in the Community Room, families with children ages 2 to 5 are invited to join us for a program filled with activities focused on the well loved children's book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We will hear the story, make a craft and even eat like the caterpillar in the story. Registration is required and begins on Thursday April 26th at 9:00 AM.

Program Date: Saturday, May 26th at 2:00 PM in the Community Room.

Composting and Healthy Lawns

Vegetarian Eating for Everyone

Are you trying to be a little healthier with your eating habits? Are you trying to save the creatures that share our world with us? Well, The Fat Chef in the Little Coat has suggestions for eating delicious, healthy food at least once a week or more. He shares his recipes for vegetarian dishes we can all love in Vegetarian Eating for Everyone. Join us as we continue our Earth Week celebrations on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 PM.

Living Green in Southeast Michigan

To celebrate Earth Week, we have invited Granton Brooks, the communications specialist from SEMCOG to share the many earth-friendly projects supported by SEMCOG in his Living Green in Southeast Michigan program. Did you know that they declare Ozone Action Days for our region or that they sponsor the Michigan Rideshare program or the studies of water run-off? SEMCOG impacts our community in many ways. Target Family Reading Night: Spring Celebration

Children ages 4-9 with a caregiver can join us Monday, April 16 from 7:00-8:00 PM to celebrate the springtime season. We will read a story, enjoy activities, eat treats, and make a springy craft. Each family will also receive one free book to take home. This program is funded by the Target Store Early Childhood Reading Grant and the Friends of the Canton Public Library. Registration begins on March 26, 9:00 AM.

Huntington Homework Help

You’re invited to join CPL, Huntington Learning Center and Shooter from the Plymouth Whalers for a free workshop Saturday, March 24th from 2:00-3:30 PM. The workshop will offer you and your child valuable practical advice on how to tackle everyday homework problems and ensure that your children have the right environment and skills for completing assignments to the very best of their abilities. Welcome time, including snacks and a photo op with Shooter, will take place from 2:00-2:30 PM with the workshop to follow from 2:30-3:30 PM.

Science Wonders — Science Everywhere

There's more to a candle than just a simple flame, but what? When you pluck a guitar string, why does it create a sound?

Join Dominic Crea of Science Wonders on Thursday, March 8 from 7:00-8:00 PM as he answers these and many other questions of a scientific nature. You will learn how electricity and magnetism, sound, heat, mechanics and chemistry permeate our everyday lives. This program is designed for kids aged 8 and up. Parents welcome.
