Do you remember making friendship bracelets at summer camp? If so, you’re already on your way to tying macramé. If not, this workshop if for beginners, so you can learn something completely new. Come learn macrame basics that will allow you to make wall hangings, wedding arches, jewelry, headboards and more and leave the class with a plant hanger. We will provide plants or feel free to bring your favorite to tie around. Please be prepare to stand for the majority of the workshop. This program is for adults 18 and older. Registration is required.

Founded by Khalid el-Hakim, the Black History 101 Mobile Museum is an award-winning collection of over 7,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia dating from the trans-Atlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture. Khalid has been called the "Schomburg of the Hip-Hop generation" because of his passionate commitment to carry on the rich tradition of the Black Museum Movement. The exhibit will be open from noon to 6:00 pm. Following the exhibition, Khalid el-Hakim will give a special lecture.

Paul VornHagen presents the American Songbook of Jazz, including pieces from American composers such as Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, and Thelonius Monk. Winner of 6 Detroit Music Awards, saxophonist/flutist and vocalist Paul VornHagen has been a mainstay on the Detroit/Ann Arbor/Toledo/Chicago/San Francisco jazz scenes for over 35 years. Paul has appeared at many well-known jazz festivals and nightclubs and has released numerous critically acclaimed recordings on Schoolkids and PKO Records labels. In this performance, Paul will be accompanied by keyboard, bass and drums.

Decorate a cupcake with friends and then dance to a playlist of your favorite happy tunes. Share what makes you happy at our Sunshine Station and take away ideas to brighten the day for others. Join local author Barry D. Levine for an evening of aviation history. Barry will share highlights from his new book, Yankee Air Museum which tells the story of this beloved, local historical attraction.
The Willow Run Bomber Plant opened in 1941 and produced over 8,600 B-24 Liberator bombers, a key element of the Allied arsenal in World War II. In 1981, a group of aviation enthusiasts established the Yankee Air Museum about a mile away from the original bomber plant. The museum built a substantial collection of flyable and static aircraft and aviation artifacts, many of which were destroyed in a 2004 fire. Despite this loss, the museum has remained open in temporary facilities while considering options for a permanent home.
