If you are interested in learning more about ways to get library books, movies, music and more on your computer or mobile device, TechBoomers has added online learning tools to help you get started. The website has now added tutorials for two of our most popular library apps: Hoopla and OverDrive. TechBoomers tutorials are developed with beginners in mind. Learn at your own pace, and unlock thousands of digital resources for free on your laptop, smartphone, iPad, or other device.

 

Drop-in E-Book Help

Have you hit a snag with your e-reader?  Patrons in need of one-on-one assistance can come in on Fridays from 10:00-11:00 AM to receive basic or extended help with borrowing or downloading books to your electronic device.  No registration required, just drop in!

Hoopla Now Available to Stream to Chromecast

Hoopla Digital has always been compatible with Apple TV, and many simply connect their mobile devices to their television sets via HDMI. While these options are still available, they now offer an additional option: *Chromecast Compatibility!

*For those of you that are not familiar, Chromecast is a device that you may purchase from a retail store or online that plugs into the HDMI port on your home television. It is powered by a USB cable that comes with the product and allows you to use a smartphone or tablet as a remote control!

Have you discovered how easy it is to listen to an audiobook from hoopla? You can either download or stream the recording onto your device, and there are about 9,800 titles for you to choose for yourself and your children. Open a hoopla account with your CPL card to start. Use 'hoopla digital' as keyword to search in our catalog, or just browse on the hoopla site. 

Attention: Android hoopla Users

The recent Android updates have rendered hoopla audiobooks incompatible. Midwest Tape is working diligently to get a new version of the Android app to release. If you have encountered audiobooks not working on your Android devices, just know it is being worked on. Please keep your eyes peeled for the new release soon. And we apologize for the inconvenience.
