Hero Hangout: Comics Reading Group

Love reading or creating comics? Come join us for Hero Hangout, every third Wednesday of the month. Hero Hangout is a Comic Book Club for ages 7-12 where you choose what to read! Each session starts with reading comics and in the second half you make your own comic. Participants are encouraged to bring a comic to share with the group but are not required. 

This program is offered the third Wednesday of the month, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, no registration required.

Superheroes/Graphic Novel Experience: read DC's Rebirth event at Canton Public Library! Start with DC Universe: Rebirth that launched this epic event and continue the story by reading your favorite DC character's comic. Rebirth is a great starting point for new and old DC fans! Search our catalog or check with a librarian for more DC Rebirth trade paperbacks and digital comics available on Hoopla.

 

Superheroes/Graphic Novel Explore: Explore your DC Rebirth experience by reflecting on what you read, learning more, or digging deeper. What did you like about Rebirth? What didn't you like about Rebirth? What Rebirth story was your favorite and why? What are your predictions for the comics you read? How did the character you read about match or didn't match their movie/TV version?

 

Superheroes/Graphic Novel Engage: Share your DC Rebirth experience by telling someone else (a friend, family member, or neighbor) or share your experience on social media with the hashtag #CYSStoryBox.

May the 4th Day

Celebrate Star Wars day with our drop-in, May the 4th Day program. We will be showing the movie that started it all, Star Wars: A New Hope. While watching the movie you can also enjoy popcorn, coloring, and a craft. Come dressed as your favorite character and celebrate with us anytime between 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Popcorn and craft while supplies last.

Lego Bingo Challenge

Come join us for two hours of creative play and building with our collection of Lego and Duplo Blocks. Participants can free play or complete our Lego Bingo Challenge.

  • turn in for a prize drawing*

Pokemon Party

Catch 'em all at a Pokemon themed party! Stations will be set up with Pokemon crafts, games, and activities.

  • Come dressed in your favorite trainer outfit for a Pokemon photo booth to add to your own trainer passport. 
  • Bring your own Pokemon cards* and Pokemon Sun or Moon** for battling or trading.
  • Pokemon Go lures will be dropped throughout the party for Pokemon Go Trainers.*** 

If you don't have Pokemon cards or games don't worry! There will also be Pokemon themed crafts and activities that only require your creativity. Be the very best, like no one ever was!

For all ages, no registration required.

 

*To battle or trade with Pokemon Cards participants are required to bring their own Pokemon cards. 

**To battle or trade in Pokemon Sun or Moon participants must bring their own 3DS with Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon game with a Rotom Pokedex.

***To play Pokemon Go, participants must bring their own Apple or Android device with Pokémon GO installed and account created. To battle in the Gym, Trainers must be Level 5 or higher.
