May Open Lego Build: Free Build

Lego builders were encouraged to build what ever they wanted to this month. Here is what they created:

  • Dragon Cart and Octopus Tower built by Veer. It has a light, a bat, windows, and a gun.
  • Space Cart by Minori moves in space.
  • The Wacky Pirate Ship built by Aarar. There is an old wizard on top that is stuck, a ghost that haunts the crew, an engineer that is stuck fixing everything because everyone hates him, and a driver who mixes up the controls because he is pretending they are in space.
  • Spaceship by Taichi fights aliens.
  • The Bluekir created by Lyric and is a getaway vehicle for running away.
  • Action Figure Holder created by Savana and it holds your Lego action figures.
  • Car built by Aarush. This vehicle shoots fire, missles, and perfume that hypnotizes people. The airtank is for going underwater. 
  • Omi-Directional Flying Vehicle by Aarti. This vehicle can fly and drive in any direction.
  • Fort of Legos Royale built by Kavin. This is a battle scene with a fort for each person. The first fort has windows and a gate. The second fort is very tall and hard to knock down. The third fort has good defenses. The fourth fort is good for spying and has good aim. The fifth fort is sheltered and hidden from enemies.
  • The Dungeon by Ansh is a water dungeon with hammers.
  • Ultimate created by Vanesa. It draws on the ultimate power! It can fly, stop time, turn invisible, and blow stuff up.
  • The Knight Station created by Sakshya. This station has flags, shelter from the rain, computers, and a jail.
  • Ultimate Car by Aibraheem moves in the air and on the ground.
  • Sky Destroyer was built by Jval. It flies in the air and destroys planes.
  • Small Boat by Teja takes you underwater.
  • Complicated Things is the second creation from Kavin. On it is a Ruler that owns things. He stands on top with his horse for jumping. There is also a balance beam the ruler makes people walk on to fall off. 
  • Red Gripper created by Namish. This vehicle has an alert system for bad stuff. It also has a speed boost system. Additionally, if enemies come from behind there are weapons to shoot them. 

April Open Lego Build: Farming Robot

The challenge for this month was to build a robot to help a farmer. We had several engineers work on the challenge and several created their own unique designs. 

  • Untitled 1 by Miles, is a robot cuts down crops.
  • Mr. Farmer created by Eddie. This robot fertilizes and harvests the crops while scaring away bugs.
  • Untitled 2 by Mahi, is a robot that cuts wheat.
  • Water Spray created by Ved. This robot sprays the plants with water or other liquid if you change out the tanks. 
  • Untitled 3 by Mugdha, helps farmers water the plants by using controls and levers. 
  • Robot Farmer Factory created by Sophia. This factory creates many different types of robots to help farmers. There are bins with parts to make robots, the curtain area holds the fresh robots, and a shield that moves up and down while building robots. There is also a tool area to store all the tools used to build robots and several workers working on different robots. 
  • Farmers and Villains Battle Royale created by Kavin. This is a Battle Royale of farmers vs. the villains! On the villain side there is a large battle tower, guards, and a man hanging from a whip to attack the farmers. On the farmer's side there is a trained horse as a guard and a guy in charge of the farm tower. The farm tower scans the surface for enemies when the wheel is turned and is an escape route. 
  • Secret Hideout created by Ryusui. This hideout is equipped with weapons and has a state of the art defense system.
  • Untitled 4 by Zaid, is a robot that runs over stuff on the farm. 
  • The Weirdest Car created by Kaya.
  • Untitled 5 created by Meral and Serenn. They built both a car and a house. The car has a fancy propellor to move and the house has stairs. 
  • Untitled 6 created by Madi. This is a pirate ship with a plank and a propeller in the back. 
  • Untitled 7 by Brady is a ship that goes into the air. It steers and moves by the motor on a string. 
  • Robo Killer by Faris, shoots enemies. 

Royal Pony Party

Due to the recent rainy weather, we ask you to join us in our Community Room for this magical event. Inside you can meet real Prince and Princess characters and real life pony unicorns on our front porch. There will also be games, a light snack, and a craft (while supplies last). This program is for all ages and costumes are encouraged!

Super Smash Bros Tournament

ATTENTION: due to the lack of registrants, the format will change from Tournament to Free Play. Patrons who have registered will take turns playing 1 vs 1 with the Joy-Con Grips or 4 vs 4 with Joy-Cons. 

NOTE: The tournament will start promptly at 2:05 pm. Late registrants will lose their spot in the tournament.

Show off your smash skills in Canton Public Library's returning Super Smash Bros Tournament! We will have a Nintendo Switch set up in Tourney Format with two Joy-Con Grip controllers. Players will compete in 1 vs. 1 battles using their favorite fighter from Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The winner for each battle will move on to the next round. The last fighter remaining is the tournament winner and will take home the Smash Trophy! 

 

  • Free play space is limited to 20 participants, all ages.
  • Registered patrons get priority.
  • Spectators welcome.

Pokemon Party

Catch 'em all at a Pokemon themed party! Stations will be set up with Pokemon crafts, games, and activities. 

  • Bring your own Pokemon cards* and Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! Let's Go, Eevee!** for battling and trading.
  • Make new friends, battle, or trade with Pokemon Go.*** 

If you don't have Pokemon cards or games don't worry! There will also be Pokemon themed crafts and activities that only require your creativity. Be the very best, like no one ever was!

For all ages, no registration required.

 

*To battle or trade with Pokemon Cards participants are required to bring their own Pokemon cards. 

**To battle and trade with Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! participants must bring their own Nintendo Switch with Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let's Go, Evee! game AND have battled your Rival for the first time. Transferring Pokemon from Go to Let's Go, is available after reaching Fuchsia City and is a ONE WAY TRADE.

***To play Pokemon Go, participants must bring their own Apple or Android device with Pokémon GO installed and account created. To battle other players, Trainers must be Level 10 or higher. To trade with other players, you must be friends first.

March Open Lego Build: Super Hero or Villain Hideout

The challenge for the builders this month was to create the ultimate superhero or super villain hideout!

  • Genghis Khan was made by two young ladies that wanted to make a villain hideout.
  • I'm Watching You was made by Alexandria. This villain hideout captures people and has a siren alarm for anyone who tries to escape or come in.
  • Sharigan was made by Saif and Ali. This villain hideout has cars, a flag, and guards.
  • Superhero Base was made by Fatima. This hero hideout included instruments, four people, and a flag.
  • Villain Base was made by Khalid. This hideout had several moving traps, an airplane, and car.
  • Dragonfly was also made by Fatima. This hideout had a roof, flags, and a guard.
  • The Breeeze was made by Courtney. This villain hideout had an elephant trunk, a watering can for the villains plants, a satellite dish for an umbrella, and a pet spider.
  • Villain Boat was created by Khole. This villain hideout had a portal and an event-able excite-a-boat. 
  • Something was created by Teja. It is so secret, that we only know it does.....something!
  • Hero Base was created by David. This hideout includes an archer, a launcher, guards with swords, gold, and a boss.
  • DC Villain Hideout was created by Kavin. This hideout has a flag, an eye that scans everyone who enters, a lava pool that you have to wear a red mask so you can swim in, a secret watch parrot, and an octopus for a pet.
