Imposter Art Make and Take

Thorndyke as Frida Kahlo

Imitate an impressionist, copy some cubism, emulate an abstract, or just be your own best artist self.

Whatever your approach, artists of all ages and abilities are welcomed to stop in to replicate their favorite style, or create something wholly original.

We provide the art supplies and some inspiration, and you get to exercise your creativity muscles. Come alone or bring a friend and make an artwork to take home.

LEGO® Build Day

LEGO

In preparation for our 2017 LEGO® Fantastic Beasts Building Contest, join us in the Friends Activity Room for two hours of free play with our stock of LEGO® and Duplo Blocks. This time is set aside to experiment and explore, build and get inspired. You cannot take your creations home, but the ideas you generate here might serve you well for the contest in January. Not interested in competing? Join us anyway. This is an open opportunity to build and create with friends or family. No registration required.

Digital Photo Project Session -CANCELED-

Do you have photos you’d like to share with friends and family? Want to turn some of your best pics into a creative project like customized note cards or a photo book? Whatever your skill level, join us Wednesday June 25, 6:30-8:00 PM in the Internet Lab for this hands-on help and work session. A library staff member will be on hand to offer help, advice and tips, including scanning prints and snapshots, creating a photo book, making customized photo gifts, editing and cleaning up digital images, posting pictures to social media sites or blogs, and transferring pictures from your phone or digital camera to a computer and more. Registration required.

NOTE: Support will be available only for photo editing applications installed on the library's public computers (such as MS Office, Paint and Paint.net, but NOT Photoshop or Photoshop Elements) or programs and services accessible from the internet. Come prepared to start or continue your own digital photo project. If you’re starting with printed snapshots, bring them with you. If you have digital photos, bring them on a portable device such as a USB drive or a camera memory card (such as an SD card).

Not Just Business As Usual

Press Here

Kids, press the yellow dot on the cover of this book, follow the instructions within, and embark upon a magical journey! Each page of this surprising book will tell you to press the dots, shake the pages, tilt the book, and then discover what will happen next! Press Here is great for large groups like storytime, or fun for just one. It is a fantastic "interactive" book; as good, if not better than any new app you can download! We here at CPL give it two BIG thumbs up!
