Stiggy's Dogs

Stiggy's Dogs is a nonprofit organization that rescues and transforms shelter dogs into psychiatric service dogs for our military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury at no cost to them. Please join us as Stiggy's Dogs founder, Jennifer Petre, along with one of the agency's service dogs, shares details of the creation of this organization and the training and pairing of the dogs with their veterans. These dogs are taught specific tasks ranging from reminding veterans to take their medicine, waking them up from a nightmare or alarm clock ringing, to directing them through a crowd. All of the dogs are rescued from shelters, animal control agencies and humane societies. By rescuing shelter dogs and providing our military veterans living with PTSD and TBI with psychiatric service animals, this organization is Rescuing One to Rescue Another. Ms Petre will be visiting us on Wednesday, July 17 from 7:00-8:00 PM.

Young Rembrandts

We all have a unique and creative ability. Especially children! On August 10 from 2:00-3:00 PM, Kathy Baker, fine artist, graphic designer, and CCS instructor, will present her Young Rembrandts art program to children kindergarten through 5th grade. By introducing her cog-art philosophy, children will learn to express themselves in a safe, fun and non-judgmental environment - an environment that tunes in to the unique individual needs and talents of each participant.
