Local Illustrator Wins Caldecott Medal!

Each year, the Caldecott Medal is awarded to the most distinguished American picture book for children. Ann Arbor illustrator Erin E. Stead has won the 2011 Caldecott Medal for the picture book A Sick Day for Amos McGee! In this funny story illustrated with woodblock prints, Amos, a shy zookeeper, gets a surprise visit from his animal friends while at home with a cold.
Congratulations to Ms. Stead on winning this prestigious award!
