Computer Skills Lab for Beginners - May 09

If you or someone you know needs assistance with basic computer skills, including Internet use and setting up an email account, please stop in to CPL's Internet Lab between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 09  for our drop-in skills lab. We will have guided activities for practice with mouse skills, copying/pasting, and more.  A librarian will be on hand to answer any questions you may have or direct you to activities and tutorials to help build basic computer skills.

*This lab is restricted to basic computer skills, as listed above. Staff will not be able to assist with the diagnosis or repair of computer equipment, or with online financial transactions.

Announcements and Invitations with Publisher 2013

Looking for an easy but affordable way to create greetings or invitations to all your spring and summer functions (think graduations and showers)? Learn how MS Publisher can help you make them! We'll also talk about how you can use the Mail Merge function to print out personally addressed envelopes. Prerequisite: Some experience with MS Word and Excel. 

Join us in the I-Lab on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Registration required.

Frozen characters and Angry Birds encourage kids to learn coding!

Frozen on CODE.orgFrozen's Anna and Elsa lend a hand in teaching children how to code!

Join CODE.org in allowing every student the opportunity to learn about computer science and coding.
 

Angry birds is also an option for older kids or adults.

There is an initiative to complete one hour of free coding lessons in order to raise the level of somputer science fluency for kids. There is a push to teach computer science in the classroom to ensure that children are getting the best chance possible to succeed. Please visit CODE.org to sign up and try a lesson today!

Your Tablet, Your Library - Download Music, Movies and More!

Movies and music and books, oh my! Now that the holidays are over but it's still quite cold outside, it's time to snuggle up with your tablet or smart phone and enjoy downloadable and streaming library services; from Zinio's digital magazine downloads to Hoopla, which offers streaming movies, music and more!

Join us Saturday January 17 at 1:00 PM to take a tour through our Library's emedia services, taking a close look at options for streaming and downloading movies, TV, music, ebooks and eaudiobooks.
