If you cannot find your favorite album in our audio collection, login to Hoopla Digital through our e-media page. Canton residents can stream or download a vast array of Prince albums and material using the Hoopla website or the app for smartphones and tablets. Celebrate his catalog and his love of life with us!

This week the music world lost a legendary composer and performer. During his four-decade music career Prince (or The Artist-Formerly-And-Then-Once-More-Known-As-Prince) recorded 39 studio albums on his own and with a variety of supporting musical groups, including the Revolution, the New Power Generation and 3rdeyegirl. With his stereotype-smashing style and incredible musical aptitude, Prince topped musical charts dozens of times with songs such as "When Doves Cry,"  "1999," "Musicology," "I Would Die 4 U" and many more. He also starred in four films, including Purple Rain

You can use your Canton Public Library card to review Prince's prolific career with always-available streaming music.

Getting enough sleep helps you stay healthy and alert. Many older people don’t sleep well, but getting older doesn’t mean you have to feel tired all the time. There are many things you can do to help you sleep better:

  • Follow a regular sleep schedule. Go to sleep and get up at the same time each day, even on weekends.
  • Develop a bedtime routine. Take time to relax before bedtime each night.
  • Exercise at regular times each day but not within 3 hours of your bedtime.

Neuroscientist Penny Lewis explores the latest research into the nighttime brain to understand the real benefits of sleep, showing how, while our body rests, the brain practices tasks it learned during the day, replays traumatic events to mollify them, and forges connections between distant concepts.
