Advanced English Language Learners — join us to read and discuss books in English. Books will be discussed until finished. Meets at 12:00 NOON in the Community Room Friday, January 8th and 22nd.

Practice speaking English in an informal setting with Community Literacy Council volunteers, January Thursdays in Group Study Room A and Fridays in the Community Room 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. 

Art + Authors Book Discussion at the Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts hosts a quarterly book discussion, Art + Authors to discuss great books and great art together.   To complement the upcoming 30 Americans exhibit,  a Canton Public Library librarian will co-lead a discussion of two books, Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coats and The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin both November 6th  and November 7th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the DIA.  The discussion will be followed by a tour of a permanent exhibition led by an Interpreter Program volunteer.   The program is free but registration is required. Call  313-833-4005  for more information

Special Book Discussion Everyone's Reading

Join us Sunday, June 14th at 1:00PM in the Community Room ER2015to discuss the Everyone's Reading novel, The Inner Circle by Brad Meltzer. Beecher White is an archivist who spends his days working happily in the past, where things are emotionally safe. Due to popular demand, a ticket will be required for both author appearances. Tickets are free but limited and will be given away at the Information Desk on a first come, first serve basis to Canton Public Library cardholders in good standing.
