If you were snowed in and missed our Winter storytime this week, don't worry. Here are some of the stories and songs from this week's storytime, plus some suggestions to create your own chilly storytime for snowy weather. You can also catch this storytime via the Library's Facebook page.

A photographic non-fiction picture book about the wonder of snowfall and the winter water cycle.
WINTER HOKEY POKEY
You put your mittens in, you put your mittens out,
You put your mittens in, and you shake them all about.
You do the Winter Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about! [Repeat, with a boot, your hat, and a snowsuit]
THE SNOWFLAKES FALL [Tune: The Ants Go Marching]
The Snowflakes fall 1 by 1 - Hurrah. Hurrah. The Snowflakes fall 1 by 1 - Hurrah. Hurrah.
The Snowflakes fall 1 by 1 and we go outside to have some fun.
And we play and we play… Out. In the snow. ‘Till it’s time. To come in. BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Repeat with:
The Snowflakes fall 2 by 2 and we go outside to shake the blues,
The Snowflakes fall 3 by 3 and we go outside bundled as can be,
The Snowflakes fall 4 by 4 and we go outside – don’t slam the door,

We used the big book version, which is a fun, wintery take on the good old "Ten in the Bed" rhyme.
FIVE ROLY POLY POLAR BEARS
Five roly poly polar bears playing in the snow (hold up five fingers)
One slipped on the ice and started to... ROLL. (roll your hands)
She skidded and slid and rolled away…
How many polar bears are left to play? (repeat until all the roly poly polar bears have rolled away)
A collection of poems from various poets that illustrate the beauty of winter and the simple pleasures that can be found in the cold, snowy months. We read "My Mother's Got Me Bundled Up" by Jack Prelutzky about the struggle with getting ready to go out into the cold.
We had a slower parachute today while listening to "Winter Lullaby" by Laurie Berkner.
