Did you miss our Purple Storytime this week? Don't worry, here's what you missed, plus a few more suggestions to have a colorful storytime at home!

From Storytime

Purple Little Bird by 1969- Greg E. Foley

FIVE LITTLE EGGPLANTS (Fingerplay)

Five purple eggplants sitting in a bowl [hold up five fingers]

One fell out and started to… roll! [roll your arms in front of you]

It bounced on the table and hit my feet, how many eggplants are left to eat? [shrug your shoulders]

[Count down the eggplants until none are left in the bowl]

IF YOU LIKE THE COLOR PURPLE (Tune: If You're Happy and You Know It)

If you like the color purple pat your head.

If you like the color purple pat your head.

You can make the color true, by mixing red and blue.

If you like the color purple, pat your head.

[Continue the song, using pound your feet, peekaboo, shout “purple”]

Growing colors by Bruce McMillan

SOMETIMES PURPLE (Tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean)

     Sometimes I eat purple eggplant

     Sometimes I eat purple grapes

     Sometimes I eat purple jelly

With a purple fork, purple knife, purple plate

[stand up or sit down every time you say "purple," or clap out the syllables every time you say "purple"]

We played with the parachute to the song "Purple Man."
