In case you missed our Fruits and Veggies storytime at Fresh Thyme this week, don't worry. Here are some of the fun stories and songs we shared, plus some extras to do your own healthy eating storytime at home.

IF YOU LIKE CARROTS AND YOU KNOW IT (Adapted from "If you're happy and you know it")

     If you like carrots and you know it, clap your hands.

     (Repeat with: broccoli/stomp your feet; squash/shout hurray; cabbage/dance around)

Count from 1 avocado deer to 2 radish mice and all the way up to 10 clementine kitties - which all add up to one big, delicious salad!

Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast are good friends until they learn there is only one drop of maple syrup left and begin a frantic race through the refrigerator in an effort to be the first one to get there.

 

FLIP FLAP JACK

We did a variation of Flip Flap Jack, with more fruits and vegetables instead of breakfast foods. This is an easily adaptable rhyme, and the King County Library System shares one version.

An alphabetical tour of the world of fruits and vegetables, from apricot and artichoke to yam and zucchini.

 

CUCUMBER ROLL

     Five little cucumbers sitting in a bowl (hold up five fingers)

     One fell out and started to... ROLL (roll your hands)

     It bounced on the table and landed at my feet

     How many cucumbers are left to eat? (Count down until all the cucumbers are gone)
