Sam Shepard was know by many as an Oscar-nominated Hollywood actor. But Shepard was also a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, director, and actor.

"One of the most important and influential early writers in the Off Broadway movement, Mr. Shepard captured and chronicled the darker sides of American family life...He was widely regarded as one of the most original voices of his generation, winning praise from critics for his searing portraits of spouses, siblings and lovers struggling with issues of identity, failure and the fleeting nature of the American dream." - New York Times

The story of how seven cocky pilots became the astronauts of Project Mercury and pioneered America's launch into the space race.

"Sir Roger Moore, who has died aged 89, brought a lighter touch to the role of James Bond, the role for which he was most famous. Out went the harder, crueler edge of Sean Connery's 007 to be succeeded by sardonic humour and the inevitable raised eyebrow. He eventually became the longest-serving actor in the role, his seven Bond films becoming the most commercially successful of the franchise." (BBC Obituary

Since 2010 we've heard "there's an app for that." So why not use an app that will help you accumulate and invest a penny here or there without the limits of a brick-and-mortar institution? There are numerous apps on the market that let you do just this. As always, make sure to research apps and websites before entering any personal information.

  • Mint - this app "brings together everything from balances and bills to your credit score and more. It’s your financial life, in one place that’s easy to understand." Mint is intended to give an overview of finances and help create a budget.
  • You Need a Budget (YNAB) - "Combines easy software with Four Simple Rules to help you quickly gain control of your money, get out of debt, and save more money faster." Similar to Mint but requires a fee and more hands-on management.
  • Acorns - "Automatically invests your spare change." When connected to a checking account, this app collects the change left after rounding up your purchases and puts it into exchange traded investment funds.
  • Digit - "Saves for you so you don't have to think about it!" Digit is similar to Acorns but works by grabbing random amounts like $2.00 one day and $5.00 a few days later
  • Tip Yourself - "You tip everyone else, but what about yourself? Tip Yourself! You Earned it!" This app is works like a swear jar or a piggy bank except you transfer small amounts of money from a linked account.

Known as the Father, the Godfather, and the Prime Minister of Rock n' Roll, Chuck Berry's signature style of guitar play inspired musicians worldwide into the 21st Century.

Mary Tyler Moore, actress and activist, relates the highs and lows of living with type 1 diabetes for the past forty years. With inspired, well-crafted prose, she drills down to the most heartfelt, yet universal truths about life—including the lives of those with diabetes. She unflinchingly chronicles her struggle with diabetes, as well as her successful rehabilitation from alcohol dependence, all while deriving gratification from her roles as an actress, mother, businesswoman, campaigner, and fund-raiser. Her revealing tales of both her successes and failures in coping with diabetes offer others with the disease guidance and inspiration through example. In the book, stories include her rebounding from a low-blood-sugar episode during a Mary Tyler Moore Show script reading after the director poured orange juice down her throat, to misadventures caused by diabetes-related vision impairment at a dimly lit party for John Travolta.

She "turned the world on with her smile" on The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and countless movie roles. This special features dozens of classic clips-plus comments from Betty White, Ed Asner, Valerie Harper, Cloris Leachman, Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, and Mary Tyler Moore herself. Plus, Oprah Winfrey recounts Mary Tyler Moore's critical role in inspiring Oprah and millions of others as TV's first independent career woman..
