Michigan Fall Colors

It's that time of year when 19 million acres of woods slowly explode in a frenzy of color. It's when an entire state is in its annual blaze of glory. It's when autumn arrives in Michigan. And there's no better place to see the dynamic colors of a trillion trees aflame than along our highways, country roads and coastlines. So let's head out to the forests. And let's prepare to be amazed, on the fall color tours of Pure Michigan.

As the Canton Public Library continues to deal with a declining budget, patrons are reminded the "magazine express" program has been discontinued. The following titles remain as single shelf copies with back issues available for checkout — these titles include:

Put on your hiking boots and safari hat… we're going on an adventure with the guides from WANT Expeditions. We're off to the amazing country of Costa Rica with all its exotic wildlife and landscapes. This should be a very interesting program with lots of beautiful photography. Join us on Thursday, September 15 at 7:00 PM in the Community Room — you're sure to be wowed.

Customer Service — A Survey

Some recent viewpoints regarding society's business customer service ratings make for some interesting reading in the July 2011 issue of Consumer Reports. The article on the Consumer Reports website contains these comments. CR is part of the CPL adult magazine collection and is also available for patron in-library use located at Adult Reference.

Where in the World?

Hey kids! Are you curious about the world around you? What are some of those crazy landmarks we have? Come to our Where in the World program on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 7:00 to 7:45PM and have a fun time learning about landmarks both here and in other countries. We'll do some trivia, eat a tasty snack, and make some creative crafts. Registration starts June 29 and is open to Children ages 5 years to 8 years-old with a Caregiver. See you there!

Folktales from Around the World

Kids, come and listen to some great tales from around the world. Folktales are a great way to pass down stories and experiences from one generation to another. We will share stories and make a craft too.
