The Canton Public Library has partnered with the University of Michigan’s Technical Communications department to bring a series of fun and exciting STEM workshops to the library. These workshops will present a wide range of topics in the science, technology, engineering and math disciplines. Each session has been designed and developed for kids aged 11 – 13 by engineering students at the university. Registration is required and begins November 19, 2018.

• ​Sunday, December 2, 1:00-3:00PM - Rubber Copters. Participants will learn the basic flight operations of a helicopter, design, build and test their own and then compete for farthest and highest flight.
• Saturday, December 8, 1:00-3:00PM - Earthquake Shake. This workshop will explore earthquakes and how they effect buildings. Using the design, build, test model partricipants will design an earthquake safe structure which will be tested on a real earthquake shake table. Who will build the strongest structure to withstand the shake table's forces?
