You can make a difference this Mother's Day in the lives of women experiencing violence and abuse by donating needed items to First Step, an organization that works to eliminate domestic and sexual violence. First Step provides comprehensive services to individuals who are affected by these crimes, and the organization has requested the following items:

• bath towels or kitchen towels
• dish cloths
• gift cards for local stores (Meijer, Kroger, Target, CVS, etc.)

The Canton Public Library will accept items May 7 through 21.
