PCCS HOSA presents Air Pollution and Lung Cancer Awareness lecture

Air pollution is a serious issue that takes place in areas all around the world throughout industrial areas. 7 million premature deaths occur every year due to dangerous matter that is small enough to enter through the lungs.  China grants days off from school or work when the particles in the air are so thick that they block light.  Parts of India are quite literally covered in dust because of coal and other air pollutants. However, air pollution doesn’t just affect countries halfway across the world. It happens locally, too: Michigan suffers from about 275 deaths a year from air pollution caused by cities like Detroit, the Motor City. Join students from the high school Health Occupations Students of America  on Saturday, December 16 at 1:00 PM to discuss air pollution and its very disastrous effects.
