Mackinaw Bridge at Night

Children in ages 7-10 interested in science, technology, engineering and math will learn something new each month in a STEM topic. This month, learn about bridges, how their structural supports function, and then work to design the strongest bridge out of household supplies. Registration is required.

Winter Snow Spree

Celebrate family, snow and all things winter at our Snow Spree on Tuesday, December 19 from 7:00-8:30PM. Carousel Acres will be flying over a live reindeer who will be visiting with us outside and we will be giving CPL Express train rides in our front loop, so please dress for the weather! Then, come inside and warm up with some hot chocolate, video stories, crafts and more. Enjoy while supplies last. No registration required.

The United Nations is celebrating 2016's World Space Week from Oct. 4-10th. Check out some of these picture books dealing with the moon, the stars, aliens, and astronauts.

A young child thinks about what it would be like to be an astronaut and go out on a mission into space. The book uses actual terminology, such as gravity, orbit, and satellite, in easy to read, simple sentences paired with colorful drawings.

Hark! Medieval Day

Knights and King Arthur, damsels and dragons. Celebrate and learn about Medieval culture, crafts, and combat. Armored fighting demonstrations and hands on activities for the whole family will be presented by volunteers from the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international non-profit celebrating over 50 years of medieval interpretation. Find out how you can join the fun with re-enacters from the local Ann Arbor and Detroit chapters.

Minecraft Club

Participate in themed builds with your friends using Minecraft's Creative Mode. Collaborate, show off your skills, and provide feedback for future events. You never know when we may go survival mode. No swearing or griefing will be allowed. Participants must have a basic knowledge of the game and have their own PC account. Demo, Playstation, tablet and XBox accounts are not compatible with our server.

For ages 7 and up. Registration Required and will open one month prior to event.

STEM Saturday: Buoyancy

Children aged 7-10 years old, interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) will learn something new each month. Join us this month as we discuss and explore buoyancy. What floats, what doesn't, and why? Registration required and begins August 26th.

Barbie magically comes to life in this modern adaptation of the E.T.A. Hoffmann classic. The tale begins when Barbie, playing the role of Clara, receives a beautiful wooden Nutcracker as a gift from her favorite aunt. That night, while Clara sleeps, the Nutcracker springs to life to ward off the evil Mouse King who has invaded Clara's parlor. She awakes and aids the Nutcracker, but the Mouse King shrinks her by casting an evil spell.
