Share a Story: Sharing

In case you missed our sharing storytime this week, don't worry. Here are some of the fun stories and songs we shared, plus some extras for sharing your own storytime at home.

From Storytime

Poor Mouse! A bear has settled in his favourite chair and that chair just isn't big enough for two. Mouse tries all kinds of tactics to move the pesky Bear but nothing works and poor Mouse gives up. Once Mouse has gone, Bear gets up and walks home. Has he learned to share or not?

Five in the Bed

There were five in the bed and the little one said:

     "Roll Over! Roll Over!

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were four in the bed and the little one said... (continue until there's only one left).

There was one in the bed and the little one said, "Good Night!"

.

Bears on chairs by Shirley Parenteau

Four chairs. Four adorable bears. All is well until Big Brown Bear shows up -- what a stare -- and wants a seat. Can these clever bears put their heads together (among other things) and make space for one more?.

It's So Much Fun to Share (Tune: The Farmer in the Dell) from Pasadena Library

It's so much fun to share, it's so much fun to share

     I have a [hat] I'll share with a [cat]

It's so much fun to share!

     (repeat with more rhyming pairs: box/fox, log/frog, boat/goat, pail/whale, wig/pig, chair/bear)

.

A celebration of the many ways children interact with books, and a reminder of how fun it is to share one.

We listened to the Sharing Song while picking up our parachute puffballs today, but the whole soundtrack is worth a listen.
