From Storytime

Toot toot beep beep by Emma Garcia

Can you make as much noise as a book full of traffic? Lots of opportunities for audience participation here, but ends quietly.

BLUE CAR, BLUE CAR (Follows the pattern of Brown Bear, Brown Bear)

Blue Car, Blue Car what do you see? I see an Orange Airplane looking at me.

Orange Airplane, Orange Airplane what do you see? I see a Yellow Bus looking at me.

[Follow the pattern with Brown Tractor, Green Taxi, Purple Balloon, Red Ship, etc.]

For your final verse, finish with: I see my passengers looking at me!

Little blue truck by Alice Schertle

A small blue truck finds his way out of a jam, with a little help from his friends.

FIVE LITTLE BICYCLES (Built on the framework of one of my favorite fingerplays):

Five little bicycles sitting in the road (hold up 5 fingers)

One got bumped and started to... ROLL! (roll your hands)

It bounced on the curb and landed on its side.

How many bicycles are left to ride? (repeat until all the bicycles have rolled away)

Poem-mobiles : crazy car poems by J. Patrick Lewis

Presents thirteen poems about wacky, imaginative cars, including the "Bathtub Limousine," which we read today in storytime (doesn't everyone want a car that keeps you clean while you drive?).

So many great driving songs on this album. We listened to "Life is a Highway" while bouncing the parachute today.
