Canton Public Safety Officer Esselink

Coffee with a Cop  gives community members an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the department's work in Canton's neighborhoods and business districts in a relaxed one-on-one interaction. Stop by the library and have a cup of coffee and conversation with officers, who will be located by the Self-Service Area.

Retirement Reception for Rebecca Havenstein-Coughlin

Join us in thanking Rebecca Havenstein-Coughlin for her 38 years of service to the Canton Public Library! One of the first librarians hired to get the newly-established library launched in 1980, Rebecca has played an integral role in the library's success. Please join the library and the community in wishing Rebecca all the best in her retirement.

Vote Canton 2018

Learn about the redistricting and relocation of polling sites in Canton Township from Township Clerk Michael Siegrist. In this informative presentation, you'll learn why polling sites have been moved and the location of the poll you'll use starting in 2018, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Relay for Life

Canton's Relay for Life is May 19 at Heritage Park. You can get involved by decorating luminary that will be placed along the walking path. Drop by the library and use our art supplies to create a luminary to support someone you know or encourage the walkers. Then on May 19, stop by the Relay for Life walk and find your luminary and support this community event.

The 8th Annual Canton Acts of Culture Week is May 12-19 and events and activities are planned throughout the community to celebrate the arts. All of our storytimes during this week will have an art theme, and we're hosting the following events at the library:

Then on May 19, stop by the Relay for Life walk and find your luminary and support this community event.

Our program series, Get to Know Your Neighbor, returns with an opportunity for you to get to know our American Muslim community on March 31, 1:00-4:00 PM. Learn about history and art, sample delicacies, and have face-to-face conversations regarding things you've wondered about. This program is sponsored by the Muslim American Society, the Canton Response to Hate Crimes Coalition and the Canton Public Library.

Sweetwaters

We are partnering with Canton's Sweetwater Coffee & Tea and a team of National Honor Society students to collect gloves, mittens and hats to benefit the Detroit Rescue Mission. Bring donations of new gloves, mittens and hats, all sizes, to the Children's Desk at the library or Sweetwaters on Canton Center Road, then check off the "Warm Your Heart" challenge on our Electrify Your Winter program and receive a special thank you from Sweetwaters. We will collect items January 8 through 31.
