Make the Earth your companion by J. Patrick Lewis

Rhythmic text gently instructs readers on how to be in communion with one another and with the natural world, kindling an appreciation for the beauty and wonders that surround all of us.

Participate in a special April Fool's Day themed-build in Minecraft's Creative Mode with your friends. Collaborate, show off your skills, and provide feedback for future events. You never know when we may go survival mode. No swearing or griefing will be allowed. Participants must have a basic knowledge of the game and have their own PC account. Demo, Playstation and XBox accounts are not compatible with our server. Registration is required.

For kids ages 7 years old & up: Friday April 1, from 1:00-2:30 PM in the iLab.

Did you miss our Toys storytime this week? Don't worry, here's what you missed, plus a few more suggestions for a toy themed storytime of your own. The books with stars before the title were shared this evening. It can be a good opportunity to talk with children about sharing, losing, or forgoing toys they have outgrown as times for new toys approach, like birthdays or the holidays.

We also danced to Toy Boat by Jim Gill from his Irrational Anthem CD and found our missing teddy bear hiding under different colored circles. We used a flannel board, but you could do the same thing with pots, boxes, or pillow cases.

Fun with Michigan Birds

Are you interested in learning more about the birds in our very own backyard?
 Join us formichigan birds a fun Michigan Bird Program on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 7:00-8:00 PM. We will learn about what birds live here in the Mitten state, make a Peanut Butter bird feeder, and have a wonderful snack. Registrations is required and begins April 27, 2015.  This program is open to children ages five years to twelve years old with a caregiver.

All About Bees

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a bee? How do they live? What do they do? Join us Thursday, April 12th from 3:00 to 4:00 PM where we will learn all about bees! Live bees will be present at the program! Registration begins online Thursday, March 29th. This program is for kids ages 6 years to 9 years and their caregiver. See you there!
