Over the past year Carrie Fisher published her 8th book and reprised the role that propelled her to fame. While best know as Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" universe, Fisher wrote numerous novels and memoirs, starred in dozens of films and television shows, and toured her one-woman stage shows around the country. The child of Hollywood royalty Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, she struggled with drug and alcohol addiction much of her adult life. This struggle fueled Fisher's solo pursuits on stage and in print. She became known in her own right as a survivor, an independent spirit, and an inspiration to people worldwide.
