26th Annual Tail Wagger's Bowl

Love to bowl? Love to help animals? The 26th Annual Tail Wagger's Bowl fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Woodland Lanes in Livonia. Tail Wagger's is a non-profit organization that provides affordable preventative and wellness clinic services for pets. They also accept donations and offers the area's only pet food assistance pantry. Please register by November 1 online or call Tail Wagger's (734-855-4077) to save your spot.  

Savvy Seniors: November 2015 Catwalk For A Cause - Fundraiser for Alzheimers

Canton Leisure Services/Club 55+ is sponsoring Catwalk for a Cause--A Fundraiser for Alzheimers on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00AM-2:00PM at the Summit on the Park's Banquet Center . Enjoy a lovely luncheon, a fabulous fashion show - presented by the Clothing Cove of Milford - and shop for a good cause. Participate in the Power of the Purse raffle; each donated purse contains an assortment of gift certificates and specialty items from local merchants. All proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Michigan. Tickets can be purchased by calling 734/394-5485.

Great Michigan Read 2015-2016 Kickoff

If
you will be in the Lansing area on Thursday, October 8, please be sure to join us for the Great Michigan Read kick-off event (which will actually be Emily’s sixth appearance) at the Library of Michigan (702 W. Kalamazoo Street, Lansing). The 2013-14 Great Michigan Read author, Steve Luxenberg (Annie’s Ghosts), will be
interviewing Emily St. John Mandel about Station Eleven, writing, and much more. The doors open at 6:00 PM.

Dungeons & Dragons Gaming Club in October

DiceRoll up some fun with kid-friendly Dungeons & Dragons Gaming.  This monthly program takes place the fourth Monday of every month. Have fun using your imagination while also working on building problem-solving skills, practicing mathematics and chart-reading, and learning new vocabulary. The next session is October 26, 4:30-5:30 PM.  All playing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own dice.  This program is suggested for ages 9-12.  Families are welcome.  No registration is required.

Savvy Seniors: Canton Seniors Summit 2015

Join us on Monday, September 14 at the 13th. annual Canton Senior Summit held from 8:00AM- 12:00PM at Summit on the Park. Librarians from Canton Public Library will demonstrate the Digital Talking Book Machine and Low Vision magnifiers and answer questions about using OverDrive Books on your eReader. Information about Canton Library Programs will also be available.

Produce Exchange Stand

Do you have a surfeit of strawberries? A bumper crop of tomatoes? We've set up a produce exchange stand, thanks to our friends at Canton Leisure Services, to facilitate the sharing of your home-grown goods. Simply drop off any extra produce in the stand by the front entrance (make sure it's in good shape, free of insects or excess soil). Or help yourself to any produce that's in the bin and enjoy the bounty. Don't forget to claim the Chow Down On the Scene badge for participating.

Around the World with Books Quiz
