2017 Family Music Fest!

Research has shown that music improves our health and bonds us together. Music is magical in all of its forms and there are few things better in life than enjoying live music with the ones you love. With that in mind, we are very pleased to announce the line up for our 3rd annual Family Music Fest on Saturday, October 14.

10:00AM - Beverly Meyer - The Music Lady: Beverly Meyer has been creating music for over twenty years. Thru her craft, “The Music Lady” has been capturing the attention and imagination of young people by creating engaging and interactive songs and inspiring kids to be a part of their musical world. For younger patrons and their families.

11:30AM - To Sangana: Out of the Black Theater and Dance program at Wayne State University, To Sangana (meaning “coming together”) celebrates the rich cultural traditions from African heritage as well as the contemporary African-American experience. Expect a visually stunning performance of a constant rhythmical journey featuring dance, music and vocals. For all ages! This performance is sponsored by VIBE CREDIT UNION.

2:00PM - The Old Adage: Siblings Mimi and Nino have been playing music together for a long time. In 2012, they made in official by naming The Old Adage. This DIY-pop group out of Detroit blends radio pop with electronic music to create interesting, infectious and dancey pop songs. For all ages!

4: 00PM - The Moxie Strings: This awesome band offers listeners the unique opportunity to experience some of the world’s best-known instruments (violin and electronic cello) through a young, progressive lens. Backed up by their musical degrees, Diane Ladio and Alison Lynn, compose the majority of their pieces and arrange melodies from many traditions, resulting in a genre-blurring blend of ear-catching melodies and foot-stomping, rock-influenced rhythms. For all ages!

Come on in for the hottest FREE show in town.
