America is a country of immigrants. Some families arrived several generations ago; some families are newer arrivals. Whether you're looking for stories that relate the immigrant experience of yesteryear, or stories with a more modern-day setting, you'll find both at Canton Public Library. The following is a list of picture book titles that highlight immigration, then and now.

Stories Of Yesteryear

A Japanese American man recounts his grandfather's journey to America which he later also undertakes, and the feelings of being torn by a love for two different countries.

Baby Storytime

Designed for babies 18 months and younger with a loving adult, Baby Storytime features simple stories, songs, and rhymes carefully chosen to build awareness of language and vocabulary, foster a love of books, and provide a fun, interactive experience for babies and parents/caregivers.

The Fall 2017 session of Baby Storytime will take place on Tuesday mornings at 10:00-10:30AM starting November 7 and ending December 12.

Attitude of gratitude by Julie Andrews

Family Reading Night - My Little Pony

CPL's Family Reading Nights continue to be an excellent ongoing celebration of literacy, sharing stories and FUN! Participants will experience engaging themes coupled with exciting activities. We will even have a free drawing of books to help grow your own personal library. This program is for children ages 4-9 and their families. Registration is required.

January 4, 2018 - Calling My Little Pony fans, let's kick up our hooves and have a blast this winter with Twilight Sparkle, Pinky Pie, Rarity, Apple Jack, and Fluttershy. Enjoy games, a sing-a-long, dancing, food, crafts and fun at this family friendly event. Come as your favorite pony!
