Preschool Storytimes

Preschool storytimes are a fun celebration of story and words designed for children ages 3-5. Children must be able to sit attentively and participate for 30 minutes. Parents may attend, or must remain in the children's department. Storytimes will be held in the purple room starting Monday, January 6 through Friday, February 14. Registration is online and begins December 23. We welcome you to one of the following sessions:

Easy Fiction to Love

Schneider Family Book Award

"Back to Front and Upside Down!" written and illustrated by Claire Alexander, is the winner of the Schneider Family Book Award 2013 for children ages 0-10. This award is for books that embody an artistic expression of the disabililty experience. A Dog called Homeless" written by Sarah Lean, is the winner of this award for middle school kids, ages 11-13. The teen award winner, for ages 13-18, is "Somebody, Please Tell Me Who I Am," by Harry Mazer and Peter Lerangis.

Sports Facts

Who has the record for the most home runs in a season? Who holds the record for the most 3-pointers in their basketball career? All this cool sports trivia can be found in the pages of our Sports Illustrated Records Books in the Children's Reference section, and the children's circulating collection. These are really fun books to browse through at the library. Football and Hockey Records are available as well.
